The R. Blackinton & Co. was founded in 1862 in North Attleboro, Massachusetts by Roswell Blackinton and Walter Ballou. According to a 1950 advertisement, they manufactured sterling "flatware, hollowware, novelties, cigarette cases, compacts and ladies' and men's dresserware sets." |

Started by 2 brothers in 1865, W. & S. Blackinton Co. was originally a manufacturer of gold jewelry in Meriden, CT. After being purchased by the Ellmore Silver Co. in the 1930's, they started manufacturing a line of silver-plated hollowware.
